As much as I love making homemade pizza, the novelty of takeout really never wears off. Especially now that I’ve been working so much. So the other day, in the middle of a busy week, we got the chance to try Extreme Pizza’s gluten free dough.
Aside from finally getting my paws on a thin GF pizza crust, the best part of this excursion was that there was a not-so-unfortunate computer glitch with the order we called in and the manager gave it to us half off the otherwise exorbitant price…plus cups for pop…which I don’t normally like…but I guess I got a Dr. Pepper just to celebrate. That probably isn’t gluten-free so you diligent celiac-ers should just ignore that part.
We got half “Pandora’s Box” (Baby Spinach, marinated artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes, feta, fresh garlic, fresh basil, oregano and mozzarella) and half “Railroad Grade” (Italian sausage, pepperoni, fresh mushrooms, red onions, fresh tomato sauce, mozzarella and cheddar). SUPER DELICIOUS. Even though it was your standard sweet-tasting GF pizza dough, everything tasted really fresh, flavorful and delightfully cheap.
If nothing else, I definitely realized that I want to be a pizza-namer at Extreme Pizza. Mr. Pestato Head, Poultry Geist? I never knew you could make such a delicious pizza sound so disgusting. But YUM!
